Condolence: Dear Lisa & family,
Our hearts go out to you as you travel through this time of loss. I just wanted to share with you an experience I had when my mother passed away several years ago.
After she passed the funeral service was planned for the following Monday. While I was at church that Sunday before her service I experienced a wonderful vision. I was sitting there with my eyes closed and I saw a man in a white robe walking down a beautiful raised country lane carrying someone in his arms. It was just as if I was sitting in a large theatre. As he walked, he came to an area where there were a couple of bushes on either side of the lane. I opened my eyes because I figured I must have fallen asleep, but I hadn’t. I closed my eyes again and I was right back at the country lane. When he reached the bushes he stopped and gently put the person down on her feet and she slowly turned and faced him. It was then that I recognized my mother, but not as she had been a week before with broken bones from a recent fall, nor weak and old, rather she was young and fit as she had been as a young woman, very much like a picture we have of her and my dad at a state park in Minnesota. It seemed as if she had just awoke and then she realized it was Jesus that had been carrying her. Without saying anything she just looked at Jesus with a questioning look in her eyes. Then very softly Jesus said to her “Welcome Home.” She turned and continued on, and although I couldn’t see anyone else, I had a sense that family and friends were just over the rise waiting for a joyful reunion.
It took me a while to realize the significance of my vision. There is no gate to Heaven to keep people out, just a couple bushes by the side of a lane. We are all welcome. So I guess my vision of Heaven is different from most, no pearly gates, no streets of gold, just serenity, peace, love and hope. When I hear “Today you will be with Me in paradise. . . ” I know what He meant, and we are all welcome to enter through Christ our Savior. May God comfort you through your time of loss.

Condolence From: Verónica Ferrer
