Obituary for Maudie Estelle Boehm (Wooley)

Maudie Estelle Wooley Boehm was born January 3rd, 1919 in Houston, TX to Joseph A. and Mattie E. Wooley and passed away on September 23, 2019 at the age of 100 in Pearland, TX. She was the fourth of 10 children. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 13 at the Sweeny Baptist Church where she was baptized. School was interrupted when she had to drop out to stay at home to help raise her younger siblings. When the time was right, she returned to school, graduated and went on to business school. In 1946, after returning from the war, she married Harry Otto Boehm, the love of her life. They had two children, Elizabeth and Gary L. Boehm. After moving in the 1967-1968 time frame, they became members of Lazybrook Baptist Church where she is still a member. She did volunteer work at the local library, Southwest Memorial Hospital, worked in several businesses and retired from Kaplan’s in the Heights at age 87. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, her parents, all her brothers and sisters except Claude Wooley. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Ann Boehm Christen and her husband, her son Gary, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be help on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery (1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, TX) under the direction of Integrity Funeral Care.
