We will always remember Mr. Phil. He inspired a love of outdoors and gemstones in my son. He always looked forward to his chats with Mr. Phil when he was outside. We loved listening to his stories. I am very sorry for your loss. We will remember him always.

Phil, Perk, JYD(junkyard dog), Junkyard; these were names Phil was known by. Depending on his mood at the time, each was appropriate.
I knew Phil for 40 years; mainly through work and the "Underwood"(another story for another time). I knew him to be a man very serious about and proud of his work. and to be honest, just as serious about enjoying his time off. In the last 2 years I learned of his spirituality and generosity. We shared many conversations about life's important topics: jarhead vs swabbie, Cherokee vs Apache. One topic that came up often was our fear that our kids didn't know just how much we loved them and how proud we were of them. Neither of us were very good at expressing sentimentality. Rachel, Champ- never doubt your dad's love and pride in you.
Anyway, I'll miss you man. Catch you later
