Adele Keck Collins

November 16, 1931 — June 28, 2024

Adele Keck Collins, age 92, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Houston Texas. She was lovingly cared for in her final years by her grandson, Ray Weston III, his wife LaToya, and their son Ray IV. Adele was born in Gonzales Texas and attended Gonzales High School graduating in 1949. She went on to attend college at Texas State College for Women, now called Texas Women’s University in Denton Texas. In 1951, she married Ray Weston and they had three children, Diana, Ray Jr. and Jeff.

After the sudden death of her husband in 1969 she went back to school at the University of Houston where she got her teaching certificate. She taught History/Government for many years at Aldine High School in Houston. Adele was a big believer in the Closeup program which allowed High School students to travel to Washington DC to learn about their government. Adele stayed involved with retired teachers organizations.

Adele was a long-time member of St Mathews Methodist Church and was very active in church activities. She regularly taught Sunday School classes and was involved in Lydia Circle and other church programs for many years. She also traveled extensively and often took her grandchildren along with her. Adele loved cats and enjoyed being part of the Garden Club. She also loved to sew and made many things for around the house.

Adele is survived by her daughter Diana Regan and her husband Kevin, son Jeff Weston and his wife Jennifer, sister Cecil Allert, brother Scott Keck and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Weston, her eldest son Ray Weston Jr.; her brothers Lynn, Morris, and Bill Keck; and her sisters Frances Bohlae and Shirley Heath.

A private service will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
