Adiol Vizina, 85, stepped heavenward on Saturday March 27, 2021. He was born in Jennings, Louisiana on May 30, 1935 to Venoff and Rosa Vizina as the youngest of four children.
He married the love of his life Kathryn Dale Stackhouse in Jennings, Louisiana on March 11, 1958. They enjoyed 59 1/2 years of a blessed marriage and were an example to family and friends. As Kathryn's health declined he was a loving and faithful husband who cared for her well.
Adiol was raised in Jennings, Lousiana and attended Jennings High School where he was known as "Junior". He played football, basketball, and ran track for the Bulldogs. After graduation he joined the United State Air Force and served as an Air Policeman (1954-57). Upon his honorary discharge, he attended Barber College in Houston, Texas. Once he graduated from Barber College he worked at the Rice Hotel Barber Shop. In 1962, Adiol entered the Houston Police Academy and served as a Houston Police Department Officer for 29 years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. Throughout his career as a HPD Officer he had side jobs as a barber at barber shops and then as security at Baylor College of Medicine (1982-2010) where he was known as "Viz". Adiol loved the Lord and his brothers and sisters in Christ. Many of his family and friends had yet another nickname for him "Vizzy". He especially loved his name Papa his grandchildren called him and was known to say "Papa is my name and loving them is my game!"
Adiol was a kind servant hearted man, always looking for ways to help others.
Adiol was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn in 2017. He is survived by his only child, D'Anna and her husband Scott Ringer; his grandchildren Michael and Katie Ringer, Hannah and Kellen Burgess, Sarah Ringer, and Joshua Ringer; and his great grandchildren Madeline Ringer, Emilia Ringer, and Nicholas Ringer.

to be held at Memorial Church of Christ on Sunday April 25, 2021 at 2:30pm at 900 Echo Ln, Houston, TX 77024.
