Alfredo Matos

Mr. Alfredo G. Matos, of Houston, TX, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the age of 51. Alfredo was born to parents Emiro and Olga Matos on August 19, 1965 in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He grew up as the youngest of four. In 1982, he moved to Houston where he discovered his passion for cooking and a part time position at a hotel that eventually lead to a lifelong career, possibly holding every position available and working his way up to General Manager. In 1991, he married his soulmate, Melissa (Missy). Alfredo was first diagnosed with Sarcoma in 2015, fought through chemo and major surgery twice. He fought a short, painful battle and always kept his positive attitude, confronted it head on and prepared us all for the inevitable. It is a great loss to his family, friends, co-workers and this community. Alfredo is survived by his wife Melissa (Missy); daughters, Alexa and Andrea; his sisters, Olga and Bertha; his parents, Emiro and Olga. He is preceded in death by his brother, Emiro. A mass will be held in celebration of his life at 10:30 am on Thursday June 29th St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 6646 Addicks Satsuma Dr. Houston, TX 77084.
