Allan Jon Richardson, of Houston, Texas passed away, Thursday, July 4, 2024 and was surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:30 am; family will be receiving guests at 9:30 am, at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, 6221 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77030. The burial will follow soon after, by police motorcade, to Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077. Serving as pallbearers will be Gregory, Wesley, Luke, Austin, Rodney, and Chad. Flowers may be sent to Integrity Funeral Care at 3915 Dacoma, Suite E, Houston, Texas 77092 by Thursday, July 11, 2024, 5pm. Allan was born July 4, 1943 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Carl and Laura Richardson. He attended Shreiner High School in Kerrville, Texas and further went on to receive his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business, from the University of Houston. Prior to graduating college, Allan served in the United States Coast Guard. Upon returning from active duty, he met his first wife, Brenda Joyce Smith, and they were married January 21, 1965. During this time, Allan also served as a Peace Officer with the Pasadena Police Department. Throughout the 1970’s, he worked at Highlands Insurance Company and then further went on to open his own business, Allan J. Richardson & Associates, specializing in Structured Settlements, in 1983. After his wife Brenda passed away in 2002, he retired and closed its doors. He went on to meet his current wife, Cynthia Smith Tate, and they were married in 2003. Together they enjoyed their next 20 years. It was during these last years of his life that Allan obtained his real estate and brokerage licenses. He had a green thumb and loved working outdoors with his flowers, plants and citrus trees. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could.
Allan is survived by his wife, Cynthia of 20 years, daughters Amanda Renee Gunter and her husband Gregory, Allana DeAnne Coleman and her husband Wesley, stepson Rodney Wayne Tate and his wife Karen, and stepdaughter Courtney Denise Carter and her husband David, grandchildren Sarah Joyce Gunter, Luke Alexander Gunter, Jessica Nicole Coleman, Michael Dewey Coleman, Amber Osborne Seifert, Sarah Nichole Osborne, Justin Richard Tate, Clay Lee Tate, Kennedy Grace Carter, August Samuel Carter, and one great grandchild Waylon Bryce Gunter.
