Ana Rivera Colon

Ana Antonia Rivera Colon, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 with family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ana was born on April 22, 1950 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to Ezequiel Rivera and Maria Isidra Colon. As the second oldest of 12, Ana worked in “las fincas de Puerto Rico” and helped her parents lovingly take care of her siblings. Ana is survived by her three children Edwin (47), Rosie (46), and Carlos (44). Ana worked for the federal government for over 20 years where she proudly served our veteran community. After retirement, she traveled extensively visiting family and spreading love, joy, and happiness.

Ana lived a very modest life and would always say, “Being rich has nothing to do with money; look at all of God’s miracles that He provides for us every day.” She was a Jesus Christ loving child of God and would always preach love, peace, mercy, grace and forgiveness. She often quoted scripture from the Bible, one of those being Psalms 23:1-6, which she lived by every day.

‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever’ (NKJV).

Those left to cherish Ana’s memories through a beautifully blended family are her 3 children, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and her 10 siblings. She celebrates in Heaven with her recently passed parents, and her brother Rene. We will miss you so much, and we will always remember you for your kindness and generosity. Good bye to a wonderful woman, beautiful mother, and abuela.
