Andres Ramos

December 6, 1943 — May 19, 2019

Andres Ramos, Jr. left this world on May 19, 2019 after a valiant fight against Alzheimer's Disease. He took his last breath surrounded by the love of his life, Martha, along with his three children, Lisa Pedde, Sandra Hawkins, Andy Ramos III, and his bonus daughter (niece), Roberta Mayers.
Andy was born in Laredo, Texas to Maria de Jesus "Chita" Novoa and Andres Ramos. He was one of seventeen children, and he graduated from St Joseph's Academy in 1961. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and married the love of his life, Martha Botello, on September 9, 1966. He then accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Navy. He faithfully served his country starting in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1976 after five years of reserve duty. When he left the Navy, he worked in sales for IBM, Southwest Electronics, and BMC Software. He retired from the business world in 2007 to begin the Gathering of Men in Fort Bend County, a ministry to men which was his lifelong passion. His goal was to mentor men to be better Christians, husbands, fathers and brothers. He continued ministering in this capacity until Alzheimer's disease prevented him from continuing.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Martha, his three children: Lisa (husband, Chris Pedde), Sandra (husband, Bob Hawkins) Andy (wife, Debbie Davis Ramos), and his niece, Roberta Mayers, who was like a daughter to him. He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Lauren Pedde, Josh Hawkins, Ryan Pedde, Caleb Ramos, Sydney Ramos, Bella Hawkins, Grayson Pedde and Ethan Ramos. He is also survived by sixteen brothers and sisters (BeeBee Rodriguez, Xotchitl Heins, Ricardo Ramos, Nene Wheeland, Tony Ramos, Mario Ramos, Pepe Ramos, Javier Ramos, Lita Salazar, Rosie De La Garza, Deedee Barrera, Cookie Flores, Aggie Ramirez, Sara Guerra, Baltazar Ramos, and Anita Granados) along with their spouses and many nieces and nephews. He considered Martha's brothers and sisters and their spouses, along with his nieces and nephews in the Botello family, to be a precious part of his family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and some of his brothers and sisters in law.
