Andrew "Andy" Luna, age 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2019. Born on January 9, 1955 to Felix and Helen Luna, he was one of six siblings.
A native Houstonian, he graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1973. He married his sweetheart, Gwendolyn Luna, in 1975. A true love story, he and Gwen first met during the first grade at Holy Name Catholic School.
Andrew loved family and friends dearly and was always eager to coordinate BBQ's and gatherings. He loved golf, fishing, hunting and any other activity that allowed him to be with people he loved. He worked over 35 years in the auto parts sales business, 33 of those years with Wahlberg McCreary.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gwen Luna; his daughters Kim Camarillo (Adolfo) and Audrie Luna (Chris Phelps); granddaughters Lizette and Lena Camarillo; siblings Daniel Luna (Anita), Manuel Luna (Mary), Mary Helen Blau (Dean), Michael Luna (Mary), nieces, nephews and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Helen Luna and brother Felix Luna.
His family would like to express their gratitude to numerous doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center for their care of Andrew during his journey with kidney cancer.
Andrew will be remembered by family and friends on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St., Houston, Texas 77018 with a Rosary at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in memory of Andrew Luna.
