Bertha Rivera

Our beloved, Bertha Rivera, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Bertha was a grandmother and mom to many and was affectionately known as “mom”. 

Bertha enjoyed life to the fullest extent. Even at 90, Bertha did her favorite things, traveling and going to the casinos. She was thankful and appreciated everyday that the Lord gave her life. She taught those that met her to live life to the fullest, and enjoy your time here on earth. 

Bertha was born in Brownsville, Texas and adopted into a wonderful family who she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents “Mama” Rosa, and “Papa” Meme Arismendez. She was also preceded by her loving and adoring husband, Robert Rivera, her son’s Robert Rivera Jr. and Ricardo Rivera. As well as her grandson, Alfredo Ramirez Jr. 

She will be greatly missed by her surviving family George Rivera (Tina), Eudelia Ramirez (Alfredo), Criselda Rivera (Mark Herrera) and Lusila Rivera. Her grandchildren Veronica Tristan (Rey), Lisa Avina, Emeralda Gonsales (Steven), Robert Ramirez (Darian), Gina Ramirez and Daniel Ramirez. Her eight great-grandchildren, Angel, Joel, Gia, Anthony, Stephanie, Gavin, Anastasia, Ava and her great-grandchild Andre who she loved dearly. Bertha will be missed by all her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, her bold spirit and love for life. 

A Funeral Service will be held at Integrity Funeral Home (3915 Dacoma), at 12:00 on January 28, 2025. After the service Bertha will be laid to rest by her loving husband at the Houston National Veterans Cemetery (2p.m).
