Betty Huff

Betty Louise Thompson Huff, 82, of Conroe, TX died June 24, 2017. She was born in Athens, TX the daughter of Clinton and Lena Montgomery. She moved to Waco, TX at a young age and attended Waco High School. In 1953, she was married to Henry Thompson, and they have four children. In 1979, she was married to Bruce P. Huff, Sr. and they were married 35 years. Betty moved to the Houston area in 1965. She was a very creative person and talented seamstress. She was always making something or helping to organize any family or social gathering. Her husband Bruce was a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force, and they were both very active in the semi-annual reunions for the The Firebird Association. She was loved and respected by many and how we will MISS HER. She leaves her Brother Grady and wife Lisa Montgomery of Gonzales, TX and Sister Martha Dunphy of Shreveport, LA. She also leaves her Son James Cregg and wife Chris of Riverside, TX. She leaves Son Brady and wife Julie of McKinney, TX. She leaves Daughter Virginia (Ginny) and husband John of Willis, TX. She also leaves Daughter Dana Edwards of Spring, TX. She leaves stepchildren Bruce Huff Jr and Adrian Keith Huff of Waco, TX as well as Patti Smith and Karen Kloepper of Coppell, TX and many Grandchildren James, Michael Cole, Clint, Jason, Crystal, Amber, Brandon, Emily, Crystal, Jordan, Rachel, Erica, Phillip, Nathan, David and Amanda. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce, Brother Clinton (Buddy) Montgomery, Sister Phila Mae (Polly) Vestal and Brother Don Montgomery. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm to 3:00pm on July 29th at Texas Prison Museum Meeting Room in Huntsville, TX. A second small service will be held at the VA Cemetery in Killeen, TX on July 30th for interment. Memorial gifts in Ms. Huff's memory can be made to the Richmond State Supported Living Center.
