Beverly Ruth Esty, 86, departed from life on November 17, 2017, in the comforts of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was the wife of the late Glenn Sherman Esty, and the daughter of Kenneth M. and Doris (Towle) Otis. She was the loved mother of the late Barbara Ruth Johnson of Houston, TX and Sandra June Esty of Alexandria, VA. She was the loving grandmother of April Cardwell, Amanda Taylor and Ashley Zimmer, cherished great-grandmother of Erik and Tyler Fay, Samantha Cardwell, Madison Taylor and Mackenzie Blaisdell, the great-great grandmother of Mia L. Barnett, all of Houston, TX. Beverly was predeceased by her brother Kenneth M. Otis, Jr. and sister Marilyn Woodall, survived by her sisters Vera (Sis) (Otis) Gillette and Cindy (Otis) Durant of Upstate New York, along with several other extended family members from the area, where Beverly was born and raised. Beverly will always be remembered for her love of family and animals, strength, courage and her love of life. She was quick witted, always there to lend a hand and loved her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit will live on through those she left behind. Beverly was born and raised in Elllisburg, NY, later moved to North Syracuse, NY, to raise her family. She worked as a school bus driver for the North Syracuse School District for 27 years. Upon retirement moved to Sacketts Harbor, NY, then in 2000 moved to Houston, Texas. Where she again worked for the Cy-Fair IAD as a special needs bus attendent until her passing. There will be a graveside memorial in Ellisburg Rural Cemetery in Ellisburg, New York, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers and for anyone desiring, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org) in Beverly's name.
