Brian John Holland, resident of Country Place in Pearland, TX, died on Saturday, November 26, 2016 after a short battle with lung cancer. He was 76 years old. Brian was born on April 25, 1940 in Blackpool, England. Brian always fondly remembered his childhood. He often said he had the perfect childhood, because he lived in the seaside town of Blackpool and their family owned a candy factory and store. He moved to the United States in 1958 following his sister, Norma. Brian joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam war. Brian always had a smile on his face and enjoyed life to the fullest. Brian was a lifelong bachelor, but he cared deeply for his sister and her children. He often took Rick fishing and was Lisa's "dad" walking her down the aisle on her wedding day. Brian was a sports fanatic, having a passion for playing soccer, pool. golf and tennis. He enjoyed traveling the world, whether for sightseeing or fishing. He was a great pool player and played daily with his best friends. Brian was an accomplished guitar player and singer, he played at local retirement centers and was a member of several musical groups in Country Place. Brian was a man with many friends. They remember his bright smile, admired the fact that he always knew everyone's name, loved his wonderful voice and guitar playing and were grateful for his generous and open heart. He will be profoundly missed. Brian survived by his niece Lisa Holland Wilder and her husband Dale, his nephew Richard Holland and grandnephews Daniel Bryant, Brandon Wilder and grandniece Kristen Wilder. A celebration of life will be held for his close friends and family on Sunday, December 4th.
