How wonderfully appointed by God that Momma, Mimi, Carol Drew Abston, entered Glory early Sunday morning October 20, 2019. Born August 26, 1931. A woman of beauty and grace, love, laughter and life, creativity and greatly blessed with a voice to sing praises to the Lord. She served the Lord, her family and many churches across the United States of America, Europe and Israel. Her Creek Indian heritage gave her a determination, often thought to be stubbornness, "to fix it", no matter what. She had a magical ability to create something out of nothing. She could turn paper grocery bags into 100 plus animal costumes for Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde. As well as make every bride she ever worked with feel like the most beautiful bride to ever walk down an aisle. But her husband, the late Joseph R. Abston, and 4 wonderful children, Susan Abston, Smith, husband Alvin, Sandra Abston Ballew, Sharon Abston, Pfeffer, husband Kevin, Michael Abston, wife Penny were her joy. She was a true picture of a Proverbs 31 woman who loved and devoted herself to her family. She has left a priceless legacy for her grandchildren, Ashley Robert Ballew, wife Lena, Christopher Ballew, Nicolas Ballew, wife Tina, Sharmin Abston, Michael Abston ll, Richard Abston, Parker Pfeffer, Suzanne Smith, Rebecca Smith. As well as her great grandchildren, Ashten and Liam Ballew, Juliana and Nick Ballew, Jaxson Abston, Jacob Cupstid and her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Mary Alice McFalls, husband Harvey and the wives of her brothers, Margie Drew and Barbara Drew. Because of God's great faithfulness, all is well. On Tuesday October 29, 2019, the family will receive visitors from 10 am until the beginning of the service at 12 pm at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 1700 W. 43rd St. Houston TX 77018 with interment to follow at Forest Park East.
Memorial donations may be made in the name of "Carol Abston" to The Celebrant Singers, Visalia , California, and Samaritan's Purse.
