Obituary:
Beloved mother and loving wife, Carol Jane Kirksey, passed away October 24th 2018 after suffering complications from a chronic heart condition. Carol was born on November 25th, 1955 in the Tripler Army Hospital of Oahu Island, Hawaii, to parents Joe and Betty McFarland. After spending the first year of her life in tropical paradise, the family would return with their daughter to the Houston area in 1956. Here, she would spend most of her youth until moving to Conroe in the late 60's to attend Conroe High School, where she performed with the dance team, wrote poetry, and made many lifelong friends. After graduating in 1974, Carol would work for a variety of businesses in and around the Houston area, including the Woodlands Development Corp., Houston Oil & Mineral Corp., and First City Corp. Acceptance. On March 12th, 1988, Carol married David Kirksey at the Woodlands' First Methodist Church. After the birth of their third child, the family would permanently settle in Seabrook, Texas. A dedicated mother and caregiver, Carol was a member of local PTA in the Seabrook and Clear Lake communities, and volunteered for many years in the daycare and children's ministry at Grace Community Church. Influenced by the island life of her earliest days, Carol took great pleasure in the waterfront views of the bayside town, and made frequent trips over the years to many sandy beaches like Galveston, Corpus Christi, South Padre, Florida, and Cancun whenever possible. She was preceded in death by her father and her younger brother, Joe and Brad Mcfarland (respectively). She is survived by her mother Betty Rasco, stepfather Don Rasco, husband David Kirksey, and her three children Joshua, Matthew, and Rachel Kirksey. Memorial services will be held on November 20th at 2pm at Praise Chapel 18516 TX-3, Webster, TX 77598. The family would like to extend deep appreciation to the dedicated staff of the Heart Tower at Clear Lake Regional Hospital on W. Medical Center Blvd. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be given to following organizations The Wheelhouse in Deer Park, St Jude's Hospital, The American Heart Association and Praise Chapel.
