Charles Morgan

Charles Harold Morgan was born on April 12, 1927 and made his transition peacefully from his home in Seabrook, Texas on March 3, 2021.

Charles was born in Talladega, Alabama, to Silas Morgan and Janie Carpenter Morgan. His sister, Mary Lane Bain and brother, John Ray Morgan proceeded him in death.

Charles married Kathleen Myers on June 16, 1984, on the deck of their Lake Livingston home. During the past 27 years they have lived in Seabrook, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Myers Morgan, his daughter, Nancy Wiginton (Scott); and their children - granddaughter Michelle Pedneau (Ethan) and grandson Collin Wiginton, sister-in-law, Glenda Myers Cagle (Tim) and their children Doug Cagle and Katy Cagle (Shannon), as well as many other wonderful friends and family members.

You could find Charles most any day on his John Deere riding mower, either mowing, spreading red ant killer, or checking out his property. He also loved to cook and in years past competed in Texas chili cook offs and enjoyed smoking brisket, chicken, and ribs on the weekends. He loved golfing with his buddies, It was more about getting together with friends and telling each other jokes, than golfing and keeping score. He was a previous member of Space City Ski Club and a current member of Clear Lake Area Ski Club. His favorite place was on his back deck enjoying a martini or Manhattan during happy hour with swing music blaring and watching the deer wander through the yard and the birds put on their air show over Galveston Bay.

Charles graduated from the University of Alabama in 1950 with a B.S. Degree and later attended the University of Houston for his law degree. Charles served two stints in the U.S. Army during WWII, one before and one after graduating from Bama and practiced law in Houston from 1964 – 2002. He was a longtime member of Seabrook United Methodist Church and served on several church committees throughout the years.

A small family service will be held, and a Celebration of Charles’ life will be held for all to attend in late spring (TBA) at his home in Seabrook.
