Mr. Chris Hurtt Walker was born January 19, 1955 in Grand Forks, ND. He passed away peacefully at his home June 30, 2016 in Houston, TX. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara, his parents Tom and Margaret Walker of Bastrop, TX, his sister and her husband, Meribeth and Ricky Collard, their 3 children and 3 grand nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Richard and William Spengler. While growing up he lived for a time in Paris, France and Afghanistan. Chris graduated from Westlake High School in Austin, TX. and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He primarily worked in the electronics field and until 2 years ago worked as a computer and copier technician and consultant for RMO. For the last 2 years he has been taking care of Barbara, who has been ill. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could do anything he set his mind to. He exceeded in gardening and cooking and made the best pralines in the world. He was a connoisseur of coffee and liked to roast his own coffee beans. He played the guitar and was in a band in his twenties. He was an avid fisherman and a wonderful caregiver. Chris will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind and gentle man.
