Connie McGregory Lewis, age 73, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Houston Hospice, Houston, Texas. She was born May 5, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Connie is one of 6 children of Jane McGregory. She could always be found with her sister-cousin Mary Achonu sharing early morning coffee and shopping. Connie loved dancing and playing games with her family and friends. She had a love of travel and a zest for life. For many years Connie worked in the business world for companies such as IBM, ITT, Exxon and Tenneco. She also had a true entrepreneurial spirit and opened several businesses. In her first venture she taught computer training classes, later operated a vending machine company, started a carpet cleaning business with her husband David and even opened a day care after retiring from the corporate world. Connie is survived by 5 children Robyn (Mark) Bedell of Kansas City, Missouri, Sharon (Michael) Bales of Orlando, Florida, Christopher (Stacey) Roberson of Severn, Maryland, Jason Roberson of Houston, Texas and Francoise Renee Lewis of Decatur, Alabama; two sisters, Jackie (Roy) Morris and Deborah Bonner both of Chicago, Illinois; a brother Ronald McGregory of Indianapolis, Indiana; two aunts, Bertha Davis of Houston Texas and Dorothy Williams of Chicago, Illinois. She was also a cherished grandmother to her 11 beautiful grandchildren, Camryn, Aaron, Jaelyn, Eric, Maya, Corey, Cedric, Jacqueline, Connie, Jason, and Fabian; and 2 great grandchildren, Harleigh and Skye. Connie was preceded in death by her brother Anthony McGregory, her sister Gloria McGregory and husband David Lewis. Connie and David could often be found jet setting to Vegas or on a cruise to the Caribbean. Her family, friends and loved ones will miss this truly unique and wonderful person. A "Celebration of Life" to remember the joy she brought to us all will be held December 29, 2017 at Memorial Club Townhomes Clubhouse.
