Craig Carter

Craig Lynn Carter, of Kingwood, TX, was born on November 23, 1965 and passed away on November 6, 2017. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Janice McCleskey, and his brother, Curtis Carter. He is survived by his three children, Jacob, Sean and Ryan, his brother, Roger Carter (and wife, Mary) and his sister, Belinda Carter. Craig was a kind, loving, and intelligent man. From his youth, he was a person who never met a stranger and offered his warm smile wherever he went. He was always quick with a joke, and had an easy laugh. Most of all, Craig loved his family. There was no greater meaning in life to him than the love he felt as a father to his three sons, of whom he was so proud. He leaves the world a great legacy in his boys. They are wonderful children who will take the flicker of Craig's life that is within them, as they grow into adulthood, to be the fine young men that he knew they will become. Craig's sons will always have an angel in heaven who loves them dearly. Craig had a natural talent for mechanics and as a HVAC technician, he provided valuable skills to the Houston community, working on the air conditioning systems for some of the city's most important institutions, such as Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. He was hardworking, with drive and ambition to provide a good life for his family. Among his other skills, Craig had a talent for craftsmanship in carpentry, and built a beautiful southern style deck on his first home, with a lovely play-yard for his children. Craig was a Christian man, and though he was not a religious person, his heart was full of the meaning of Christian life, and he aspired to live by those values. He understood the power of forgiveness, which he both generously gave and received throughout his life. For fun, Craig was a movie buff, who kept up with the latest movies and loved to share the highlights and best scenes with friends and family. His most important hobby was music; Craig loved music. As a young boy, he wanted to grow up to be a rock star, as many boys in the 70s did. As a man, he played the guitar, wrote music and sang. He enjoyed diverse genres of music, especially the classic rock of this youth. Craig and his brother, Curtis, who also loved to play guitar and sing, are rocking out together in Heaven tonight.
