Craig Stephens

Craig Allen Stephens left this life on earth on October 14, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Craig was born to John and Nora Stephens on March 9, 1962 in Monahans, Texas. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1981. He was a selfless, caring, and generous man with a big heart. He was always on the go and hard at work until his last day. He had a life of stories that include working timber, hunting, fishing, barbeque cook-offs, crawfish cooks, deer lease fun, Ducks Unlimited, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Rotary events, Charity events like American Diabetes Kiss-A-Pig and March of Dimes and his zoo of animals. He loved everyone with all of his heart and made sure that those who touched his life knew it. He is survived by his fiancé, Shanan Blackerby; children, Harlee and Colton Byars, Chase Balow, and Sherry Kinsey; his father, John; sisters Cindy Hall and husband Edward, and Stephanie Henderson and husband Jim; man's best friend, Ima Jean; and a long list of other relatives and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Nora Stephens, who passed away on the same day in 2006. Please honor Craig's wishes, he said "NO FLOWERS". In lieu of flowers, please donate at the service to Crosby Church Clothe-a-Child or mail to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of David Pena and Integrity Funeral Care. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. and services at 1:30 p.m. at Crosby Church, 5725 Highway 90, Crosby, Texas 77532 with Keenan Smith and Ronald "Tinny Man" Ellisor officiating. A reception will follow at Crosby Fairgrounds.
