Dallas H. Thomas, Jr. passed away on August 12, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 87. Born on May 21, 1928, in Beckley, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Dallas H. Thomas, Sr. and Hattie Thomas Armstrong. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, he joined the U.S. Army where he served as a Master Sergeant. He continued his service in the Army Reserves and National Guard until he retired. He began his career after attending Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, as an account manager and auditor for Allied Chemical a division of Union Texas Petroleum in South Point, Ohio. He was transferred to Petersburg, Virginia in 1969 and was then transferred to Houston, Texas in 1973. He retired from Union Texas Petroleum in 1992 after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; Alysia Dawn Russell and Richard Dean Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patty Mayes Thomas along with four children; Timothy Dallas and wife Sandra of Beasley, Texas, Cynthia Ann Russell and husband Randy, of Humble, Texas, Jill Lynn Garcia of Houston, Texas and Johnna Jo Benton and husband Tom of Rock Island, Texas; Eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one due this month. Dallas loved and lived life to its fullest. Dallas loved his wife, family and people and made numerous friends. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and traveling. No services will be held at this time. A Celebration Of His Life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his name to your favorite charity.
