David Raymond Beegle passed away in Houston, Texas on January 17, 2022, at the age of 74 years. His wife of almost 45 years, Margaret Ann Beegle was at his side.
Born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, he was welcomed into this world by his parents Raymond and Vivian Beegle and older sister Carrol. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when David was three. He attended Mesa High School, where he played first base on the varsity team. After graduation from high school, he obtained a BS in Marketing from Arizona State University, where he attended on a baseball scholarship. He obtained a great deal of experience in marketing in his first job out of college, and later went on to start his own marketing company after moving to Texas in 1985. David met the love of his life, Margaret Williams in California while they were working for sister companies. He came equipped with a three-year-old son from his first marriage, Justin, whom Margaret loved as her own. Together they had two daughters, Ariel and Allison.
Being a devoted father, husband and friend came easily to David. As the father of one son, two daughters, and four grandchildren, he was always ready for fun times with the family. David never knew a stranger, which served him well in both his first career in the grocery industry and later as he served the people of Impact Church of Christ. He had a way of engaging people and encouraging them when they needed it most. His career didn’t begin in ministry, but he had a servant’s heart and the unique ability to knit people in need together with people who could help. Being an alcoholic with 31 years of sobriety, he was able to relate to and help many of the people who went through the Recovery Program at Impact, but it gave him the greatest pleasure to speak to the teens who came every summer as interns who helped with the children’s programs. He had a special talent for influencing kids to consider the paths they were on.
One of David’s favorite passages in the Bible, and the mantra by which he lived, was:
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:37-40
David was preceded in death by his father Raymond Edison Beegle and his mother Mary Vivian Hultz Beegle. He is succeeded by his wife, Margaret Ann Williams Beegle, son, Justin Beegle-Schleede and wife Christina, daughter, Ariel Dunklin and son-in-law Blake, daughter, Allison Beegle and son-in-law Scotty Moore, grandchildren Zoey and Phoebe Schleede, Iain Moore and Riley Paige Dunklin, sister Carrol Beegle, nephews Glenn Palmer, Chris Palmer, and niece Darla Browne, mother-in-law Yvonne Brown Williams, brothers and sisters-in-law Reid Williams, Ralph and Debra Williams, Craig and Teresa Williams, Mark and Lou Ellen Williams, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew.
