Dawn Denise Monroe, 34, of Houston, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Dawn was born May 8, 1981 to Douglas and Kerry Monroe. Dawn graduated from Houston's, TH Rogers High School in May 2003. After graduation she began attending Garden Oaks Adult Activity Center until September 2015. After a hospital stay she went to a group home to receive therapy to get her strength back but Jesus took her to heaven before she could return home to her mom. Dawn was loved by everyone that knew her. She never passed up a hug and she gave out lots of them. She loved watching her Barbie and Disney movies. Dawn's favorite movie was Barbie in the Nutcracker. She enjoyed her story books, coloring, writing notes and making her wish lists. Dawn would always say- " I love you bigger than the whole wide world" and she would always sing " I love you a bushel and a peck" with her mom. Dawn is survived by her mom, Kerry (Mays) Monroe, grandmother, Mary Duncan, Uncle James and Aunt Michelle Mays all of Houston. She also has aunts and uncles in New York. Dawn is preceded in death by her dad, Douglas Monroe. Come and go visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 6 to 8 PM at Integrity Funeral Care, 3915 Dacoma, Suite E, Houston, Texas 77092, 713-344-0764. Funeral and burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at VA Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038, 281-447-8686.
