Donald Ira Baker, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away March 4, 2017 at his home. He was was born in Summerfield, LA on November 23, 1930, to Baley B. and Lillie Elizabeth Baker. He graduated from El Dorado High School and received a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston. Don was a private investigator and a detective for the Houston Police Department for 20 years. After retiring, he held multiple positions such as a Special Crimes Investigator for the Harris County District Attorney, security guard at Macy's and the V.A. Hospital in Lufkin. He also owned a barbeque restaurant in Jewitt, TX. He has been a member of North Park Baptist Church since its opening. Don was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, his first wife Marcia, his son Jackson, and his grandson Lewis. He is survived by his wife Janet and three daughters, Donna Price and husband Chuck, Karen Nash and husband Howard, and Debbie Pazderny; and his sister Corrine McDade. He is also survived by his grandchildren Chris Price, Logan Nash, Mark Pazderny and wife Jennifer, Chris Pazderny and wife Cindy, Jennifer Ferguson and husband Justin; and his great grandchildren, Paige Cruz and husband Javier, Ryan Pazderny, Megan George, Justin George, Mia Pazderny, Deacon Ferguson, Hunter Pazderny and Kara Ferguson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's name to North Park Baptist Church.
