Dyana Solheim, 64, of Richmond, Texas died peacefully in her sleep on September 13, 2013, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Born April 2, 1949 in Milwaukee Wisconsin, she is predeceased by her father Vernon K. Solheim and her brother Eric J. Solheim. Dyana (Big Nana) spent 40 years of her life caring for others professionally as a nurse. She graduated from University of Madison Wisconsin with a BSA, and later received her Masters Degree from Texas Woman's University. She dedicated her entire life to serving others as a selfless servant of God. Prior to her Diagnosis of Leukemia in 2009, Dyana was fulfilling her life long dream of Missionary work in Uganda, Africa. Even during 4 years of fighting AML she continued to minister, help and serve others. She leaves an amazing legacy here on earth. Survivors include her daughters, Sara (Rodrigo) Vargas and Taryn (Joe) Arbeely, her grandchildren Maximilian, Victoria, Carmen, Eva, Natalie and Audrie, of Richmond, TX. Her mother Ethel (Wayne) Cole, brother Neal (Patty) Solheim, sister Helene Solheim and nieces and nephews all from Brookfield, Wisconsin and surrounding areas. And we can't forget her beloved dog Penny that brought her so much joy and healing during the past 3 years. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Community Bible Church in Richmond, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Grace International Children's Foundation (Lulwanda Children's Home in Uganda). Dyana requested that she prefer Orange accents to be worn to support Leukemia Awareness.
