Eddie “Cleo” Johnston, 88, of Tomball, Texas passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Plus for their superb care and comfort. A private family remembrance will be held in celebration of Cleo’s life. Cleo was born on December 17, 1933 in Sweet Home, Lavaca County, Texas to Leonard and Dovie Turner. Raised on a farm, Cleo graduated from Yoakum High School in 1952 and attended secretarial college in Houston, TX. She worked for Bank of the Southwest for a number of years until becoming a business owner with her husband in Kosse, TX. Cleo retired in Castroville and relocated to Tomball in 2004 to be closer to family, where she enjoyed staying active with a part-time job at the Goodwill store in Tomball. Cleo enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends, playing bingo, collecting cookbooks, and she was a lover of garage sales and shopping. She adored her beloved dogs Gizmo, Cosmo and Sienna. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Ira Johnston Jr. of 28 years, Cleo is survived by her daughter Terry McKinney, son-in-law Larry McKinney and granddaughter Andrea Mickan all of Magnolia; along with friends and loved ones. Cleo will be dearly missed by many people, including her beloved friends of HomeTowne at Tomball and Harvest Home in Tomball. In-lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local ASPCA organization in remembrance of Cleo.
