In loving memory of a Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. Ed (Eddie) McFarland, age 76, passed away on Friday December 1, 2017. He was born January 9, 1941 in Houston, to John and Nannie Mae (Dorsey) McFarland. Growing up, his mother nicknamed him Spanky because of his antics which were featured in comics in the Houston Press. Eddie was married to the love of his life Rose (Taton) McFarland, and they have been together since 1976. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 19 and served from 1960 to 1966 as a helicopter mechanic. His occupations over the years have ranged from Exterminator to Master Carpenter and Entrepreneur. Eddie was known for his unique and creative designs and living life to it's fullest. His adventures included; sky diving, scuba diving, skeet shooting, bull riding, building and racing hot rods with The Road Kings, he was fearless. Eddie told Rose that he had done everything in life that he ever wanted to do. Along with his wife Rose, Eddie leaves behind his sister Janan (McFarland) Hoyt, sons; James McFarland, John Taton, and Heath Theuman, several grandchildren and countless other family and friends. Viewing will be available for family and friends on Tuesday December 5, 2017 from 10 am to 12 pm at Integrity Funeral Care, 3915 Dacoma St. Houston, TX 77092. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday December 5, 2017 at the Houston National Cemetery (VA Cemetery), 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77038.
