Edward Stone

Edward L. Stone passed away May 25, 2017. He was born in Arkansas October 17, 1933, but was a long time native of Houston, Texas. He had just started his career at Southern Leather Company. He later went on to work for Award Designs. He worked 40 years traveling across the state selling western wear and belt buckles. Ed volunteered for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and the Calf Scramble committee for half a century. He was a Life-Time Vice President of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Ed's favorite past times were boating, fishing, gambling, and enjoying life. Ed is survived by his daughter Connie and son-in-law Bobby Godeaux of Vidor, Texas. His son Wesley and daughter-in-law Carolyn Stone of Houston Texas. Five grandchildren: Kailee Godeaux, Kelsee and Ehren Davis, Peter and Natalie Stone. Three great grandchildren: Kaselynn, Kinslee, and Emberlie Davis. Ed has four surviving sisters: Peggy Mundt, Brenda Schumann, Sandie Montgomery, and Gwen Stone. Many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Ed is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ruth Stone, and his brothers Joe and Benny Stone. Our family wants to thank all of those who have continued to visit, call, feed, and fellowship with Ed. You have been a blessing to him and us. His life may have changed the last several years, but he insisted on living his life. His memorial service will be Monday, June, 12th at 1 PM in the chapel at First Baptist Church. 7401 Katy Freeway.
