Frank “Buzz” Irey Obituary

Frank “Buzz” Irey, age 64 passed away with family members by his side on Sunday August 4th, 2024. Born July 5, 1960, in Darby, Pennsylvania, Frank was one of three children to parents Frank Irey Jr. and Patricia Irey. Married to his beloved wife of 38 years, Caroline Fasy Irey, as she was his soul mate for life. Preceded in death by parents Frank Irey Jr. and Patricia Irey; and son Stephen Irey.

Frank had two sons, Michael Irey and Stephen Irey. He enjoyed spending quality time watching his sons grow up and was passionate about raising his boys with strong family values. Frank loved his family! He enjoyed coaching, fishing, camping and traveling with his son’s and his wife. Frank enjoyed golfing with his family, as the family would spend numerous weekends together on the golf course.

Frank is also survived by his sister Kim Ward of Chadds Ford, PA and his brother Scott Irey of Woodlyn, PA. Frank graduated from Widner University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. After graduating, Frank worked for several Gear Manufacturing companies for 39 years as a General Manager and Managing Director. As a Senior Director, he travelled internationally and domestically solving complex gear designs. His drive for his career was uncanny and the commitment to his family and career status was surely something special. He really enjoyed golfing, fishing, swimming, and attending sports events. You could always find Frank on Sunday’s supporting his “Philadelphia Eagles”. Frank really enjoyed spending summers at Wild Wood, New Jersey with family and friends as well as his home state of Pennsylvania. Frank was a man of faith and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. All and all he touched many lives and made some great memories.

Family and friends will be holding the Celebration of Life in his honor on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at 1pm at Anthony’s Ristorante & Ballroom, 865 W Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
