1944 - 2017 Gary Woolsey, 72, of Katy, Texas passed away on March 31, 2017. He was born on October 16, 1944 in Hollywood, California to Byron Joseph and Anna May Moore Woolsey. Gary graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO in 1962. Following high school, he began his career as a tradesman in the printing industry. Gary moved to Houston in 1978 where he continued his career in the Graphic Communications industry with roles in both Operations and Sales. In 1986 he became President and founder of Characters, Inc. an organization which ultimately gained national recognition as one of largest and most innovative in the region. Characters was the first digital printing press installation in the Southwest and grew to include computer-based learning and digital asset management before it was sold in 1997. Gary continued with roles in Operations and Sales before retiring as VP of Operations at ImageSet, Inc. in December 2016. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Stephen F. Austin Golf Club in Sealy, Texas. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Kathi. They lived in Katy, TX with children, Ashley Reynal and Wes Reynal along with beloved pets affectionately dubbed "The Wild Bunch" by Gary. Gary is also survived by sons, Michael Woolsey of Surprise, AZ and Doug Woolsey and his wife, Michelle Rice of Sunnyvale, CA; grandchildren, Joseph Woolsey, Crystal Woolsey Hinrichsen and her husband, Adam, Alex Woolsey and Emily Woolsey; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ellie, Zechariah and Gabriel Hinrichsen and Jaxon, Lorelei and Sawyer Woolsey. Brother, Donald Woolsey and his wife, Joyce; Sisters, Barbara White and her husband, Rick, and Pat Duncan and her husband, Gerry. A Memorial Service celebrating Gary's life will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at IAG Business Technology, 6767 Portwest Drive, Suite 190, Houston, Texas 77024.
