George Labra

In Memory of George Paul Labra George Paul Labra passed away on Monday, September 7 at the age of 87. He was born on March 10, 1928 to Joseph and Sofia Labra in Yonkers, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Evelyn Stapay and John Labra. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Labra, who passed just last month. George is survived by his children and spouses Joseph and Laurie Labra, Francesca and Eugene Ribaudo, Elena and Brian Provost, and Paul and Naruemon Labra, grandchildren Alexis Provost Mills, Christopher Labra, Kenna Provost, Rocky Ribaudo, Elizabeth Labra, and Alyssa Labra and his great-grandson Hank Mills. George took great pride in his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. George served his country in the Army from 1946 through 1947 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. Following his service, he attended Clemson University where he received a degree in Architectural Engineering in 1951. His career spanned many years and companies in New York, Washington, and Texas. George worked as a licensed Professional Engineer until just last year. Services honoring George's life will be held at St Edwards Catholic Community at 2601 Spring-Stuebner Road, Spring, Texas on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations to be made to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center at http://www.mdanderson.org/ or to St. Edwards Catholic Church Children's School.
