Gordon Holm

It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Leonard Holm announce his unexpected passing on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the age of 80.

Gordon was born in Sisseton Hospital, South Dakota on July 23, 1941. One of eight children, his early years were spent in rural Roberts County where his first eight years of education were in a traditional “One Room School House”. He then attended Rosholt High School where he excelled in sports with the “Rosholt Rams” playing football, basketball and baseball.

After high school Gordon traveled to Houston Texas to find work and there met the love of his life Linda LaVaughn Holland. During their over 60 years together they raised three children in Pearland, Texas and then moved to his most favorite place on earth for his retirement in Etoile, Texas near his deer lease.

Gordon’s gift to everyone he met was his time. Whether it was teaching his boys how to build just about anything, his daughter how to focus on what is important in life, his grand children how to hunt and fish or his great-grandchildren how to plant a garden, he always had time for anyone that needed him.

Gordon’s most favorite times in his retirement were spent with his family, working in his garage, gardening, fishing, helping his neighbors, and hunting with one of his closest friends Joe Calvert.

His kind and generous heart will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Jonas and Florence Holm, sisters Ardell, Marlyn, Delphine, Arlett and brother Eldean.

He is survived by his wife Linda, son Philip Holm (wife Kelly and granddaughter Madison), son Ricky Holm (wife Angie, grandson Zackary, grandson Chance and granddaughter Paige) daughter Tamara Spence (husband Stuart, granddaughter Brittney, granddaughter Taylor, grandson Cameron, great-granddaughter Saryn and great-grandson Barrett), brother Dallas Holm, brother Ron Holm and many nieces, nephews, out-laws (I mean in-laws) and friends, all whom he loved with all his heart.

A remembrance will be held on April 2nd from 2PM – 5PM at 13120 Roy Road in Pearland TX 77581.
