Holli Bailes

February 10, 1985 — August 25, 2020

Holli Elizabeth Gambill Bailes, 35, passed away unexpectedly in Cypress, Texas on August 25, 2020.

A beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend, Holli was born in Houston, Texas to Beth Stringer Gambill and James Gambill. Holli graduated from North Shore High School in 2003, and relocated to New York to study acting, voice and dance, before returning home to Houston.

Holli was a vibrant person who loved to laugh, recall old stories, as well as create new ones in her daily life. She believed that friendship was a lifelong commitment and loved remembering shared times. She was born with a passion for singing and had a beautiful voice. In the summer of 2004, while home in Houston, she met her best friend and love of her life, Michael Bailes, and never looked back. They married on November 16, 2013 and enjoyed many years of traveling, attending Houston sports events and hanging out with friends. Her greatest desire was to become a mother and although this would turn out not to be her destiny, she loved her niece, nephews and goddaughter like they were her own. She cherished each moment she shared with those she held dear.

Holli is survived by her husband Michael Bailes of Cypress; mother Beth Gambill of Houston; father James Gambill of Kentucky; mother-in-law Cynthia Clothier of Houston; grandfather Gerald "Jerry" Stringer of Houston; brother and sister-in-law Joshua and Tiffany Gambill of League City; sister and brother-in-law Jodi and Sawyer Bonds of Houston; sister-in-law Ellie Bailes of Houston; nephews and niece Emmett Holton, Bryce and Braedynn Gambill; aunt and uncle Anne and Tim Eaves of Baytown; uncle Larry Gambill of Kentucky; cousins Kayleigh Temple and husband Zach of Tyler, Brett Eaves and wife Ashley of Houston, and Bryan Eaves of Houston; goddaughter Jacie Frederick and numerous other extended family and friends.

Holli is also survived and sorely missed by her in-laws: grandparents Don and Carolyn Boatright of Lago Vista and Nita Bailes of Lubbock; aunts and uncles Melissa and Stephen Rye of Lago Vista, and Julie and Frank Allen Philpot of Virginia; and cousin Elizabeth Philpot of Virginia.

Holli is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Frances Stringer and father-in-law Matthew Bailes, along with several friends and other family.
