Jacob (Jake) Nicholas Grant was born December 12, 1965 in Dallas, Texas. Jake succumbed to cancer on October 12, 2018 at his home in Sugar Land, Texas after a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.
Jake was preceded in death by his older sister Rachel. He is survived by his mother, Linda B. Grant; and father Dane Grant, and his wife, Pam.
Jake attended Bunker Hill Elementary, Spring Branch Jr. High, and Memorial High School where he was on the soccer team. He graduated from Texas State University with a BBA degree and moved to Costa Rica to pursue his fortune. After returning to Houston, Jake operated a land clearing and landscape tractor service. Jake later saw an opportunity in the oil and gas field and became an independent land man for oil and gas companies. Jake travelled all over the southwest. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed music, many friends, motorcycles and the Houston Astros.
A memorial service celebrating Jake's life will be held at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road Houston, Texas 77056, on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Jake be made to St. Martin's Episcopal Church, where he was a member, or the Scottish Rite Orthopedic Hospital in Dallas.
