Jeffrey Allen Fischer, age 76, passed away on March 14, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Jeff was born on June 28, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Carl and Priscilla Fischer. In 1962, Jeff joined the Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas until 1966. After his service, Jeff attended The University of Utah where he received his degree in Mathematics. He continued his education by attending The New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology where he received a graduate degree in Geophysics. He worked at Phillips Petroleum Company for 20 years and retired at the age of 55. Jeff loved all outdoor sports, especially golf, fishing, hunting, and running. Shortly after retirement, he moved to Red Lodge, Montana and coached junior high basketball for several years. He then moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where he learned to fly single and twin-engine airplanes and later became a flight instructor. A few years later, he moved to Early, Texas where he flew an airplane he built with the help of his neighbor and good friend, Dean Crofford. In 2013, he and his wife, Teresa, moved to Smithfield, Utah to enjoy the simple and peaceful life of a beautiful mountain side community. Finally, in 2017, as his battle with Alzheimer's progressively worsened, it was decided that a move back to Houston, where family support was available, would be best.
Jeff was a sweet & loving husband and a great father. He leaves behind his wife, Teresa, who he met in 1994. He is also survived by his daughters, Kelly, Tracey, Jillian (husband Mike Bisenius), and Sara, as well as his sister, Julie and brother-in-law Rick Staelin.
