Jerry Willis Berry Jerry Willis Berry was born on May 19, 1941, in Newport, Arkansas, and passed away on April 3, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in the Houston Medical Center. Jerry was formerly of LaPorte, Texas and graduated from LaPorte High School in 1959. He was in the U.S. Army for 2 1/2 years and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. Jerry was a great pool shooter and loved the game. He could have turned professional when he was younger. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred B. Berry, his father, Homer S. Berry, both from LPorte, Texas; his baby sister, Joyce Berry, and daughter-in-law, Tamara Berry, as well as his mother-in-law, June Charlotte McBride. He leaves behind his wife, Charlotte June Berry, of Hempstead, his son, John Wayne Berry, of Hempstead, grandson Connor Patrick Berry, of Hempstead, and brother-in-law, James Melvin Murphy, of Pasadena, Texas, as well as numerous friends. Jerry and Charlotte were married for 48 years. They lived in Hempstead for 16 years and had a wonderful life there, along with their son, grandson, and daughter-in-law, as well as many friends. He will be greatly missed by all. He was indeed "the love of Charlotte Berrys life" for now and always. "Man walks in the direction towards which he looks, and where his treasure is, there will his heart be also." - This was truly Jerry, his treasure was his family and friends. A hard-working, loving husband, a good provider, and an extremely devoted and loving father to his son, and grandfather to his grandson. A memorial service was held at the Fellowship Church at 30402 FM 1488 in Fieldstore, on Saturday, April 11 at 3 p.m. with Reverend Jay Anderson giving the sermon and Bethany Anderson and Jay singing the song for the service. The eulogy was given by Charlotte Berry. Jerry's ashes will be buried at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas will full military honors. "You can rest now, my sweetheart, since God took you home to be with Him. He just loaned you to us. Thank you Father for letting him be with us for a while." - Your loving family, Charlotte, John, and Connor.
