Joan M.

Joan Marie Bill (October 14, 1948- May 22, 2017) Joan was born in St. Paul Minnesota, and graduated from Harding High School in 1967. Immediately after High School, she became an LVN, and worked in a physician's office where she developed her love of learning, traveling, and caring for patients. She attended Anoka-Ramsey College, where she finished the Registered Nurse Program. Shortly after graduation, in 1978, she moved to Houston to begin her career as an ICU nurse caring for post -operative open heart patients. Her career at St. Luke's Episcopal hospital spanned 35 years. Joan claimed to miss the Minnesota winters, but loved living in Houston. She was an avid animal lover, and frequently took in friends, and their animals and pets that needed homes. Her current pets include "Happy" a blue headed McCaw, and "JD" an Amazon green parrot, and a mixed breed dog named "Beau". Joan leaves behind her best friend and husband, Doyce "Buck" Herron, Sr., step children Amanda and husband Kevin, Kristy and friend Eric, and "Buck" Jr. and wife Janna, and nine grandchildren. Also left behind are Joan's brother, Robert Bill, his wife Gail, Joan's sister in law Kay, niece Chris and husband Pete Leyden nephew Scott and wife Frankie Bill, Nephew Matt and wife Bree Bill, and great nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Clarence Bill, and her brother, Charles "Chuck" Bill. Joan will be truly missed.
