John Mackie Jr.

John V. (Pineapple) Mackie Jr. 1954-2017 John V. (Pineapple) Mackie Jr. 63, formerly of Gladstone, Michigan passed away peacefully Friday, March 3, 2017 at East Houston Regional Medical Center, in Houston Texas in the presence of family. He was born February 27, 1954 in Lahaina, Hawaii, the son of John and Gloria (Ramos) Mackie. He graduated from Gladstone High School in 1972 and relocated to Houston Texas, where he has lived since 1980. He was very artistic and loved to draw. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan all his life and enjoyed teasing his friends and family when his team won. Most of all, he had a kind and generous spirit. Survivors include his sister, Cindy Heinrichs (Bill) of Wausau, WI; brothers Donald (Sherry) Mackie of Poplar Grove, IL; Brian Mackie of Harvard, IL and Lawrence Mackie of Marengo, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Integrity Funeral Services in Houston Texas is assisting the family. A celebration of his life will be held in Gladstone, Michigan in July.
