Jon Alderfer

Born: June 6, 1966 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania Died: February 15, 2016 in Houston, Texas Jon, also called Randy by family, attended Shadow Oaks Elementary & Spring Oaks Jr. High. He graduated from Spring Woods Senior High in May 1984 summa cum laude. He attended Texas A&M University with full National Merit Presidential scholarship. Jon loved being outdoors. He was a Camp Counselor for Camp Good News at Forrest Glen in Huntsville, TX. His camp name was "Scooter" & he made many life-long friends. He also went on a Survival backpacking hike outside of Pagosa Springs, CO during high school. Jon enjoyed his work as a gifted computer programmer. He worked for AlderGraf Systems, Inc, Arnold White & Durkee Law Firm, SPBA Systems & Williams Communications Solutions, LLC in Houston. He is survived by his parents Leon & Pat Alderfer, brother Mike Alderfer & wife Melissa, sister Julie Ortiz & husband Marco. His nieces & nephews are Rebekah, Leah, Noah, Elijah Alderfer, Marisa & Lydia Ortiz of Houston, TX. He has many relatives in Pennsylvania who also have loved him over the years & enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4 at 11am BridgePoint Bible Church, 13277 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jon's memory to: NAMI Greater Houston (National Alliance on Mental Illness) 3630 W.
