Joseph John Perret passed away in Houston on December 4, 2024. John was born in New Orleans on May 27, 1932 to Dr. Joseph Maxime Perret and Shirley Aleman Perret. He is survived by his daughter Mireille Perret and her husband Paul Campbell of Houston, TX, and his brother William. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Perret, and his brothers Max, Henry, Tom, Paul, and Joseph.

John graduated from Jesuit High School and Tulane University. He then enlisted and served in the U.S. Army for two years. He obtained his PhD in French from Louisiana State University.
