Juan Marquez passed away on January 20th, 2024, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Juan was the son of Manuela Velazquez and Juan Marquez, born on February 5th, 1957. He grew up in a loving home in El Paso, Texas. He met his wife, Betty, while attending the University of Houston, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. Juan spent the rest of his career at Union Pacific Railroad, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Juan was a man of many talents and interests. He was a gifted storyteller and a passionate evangelist who loved sharing his faith. He was a devout Catholic and had an unwavering love for Christ. Juan was an expert in apologetics and had a passion for defending the Catholic faith.
Above all, Juan was a loving husband to his wife, Betty, and a devoted father to his children, Ilani (Paz) Marquez, Juan Marquez II, Faith Marquez, and Martin Marquez. He cherished his family and spent as much time with them as possible. Juan will be dearly missed by his wife, children, family, and friends, who will never forget him as a loving and faithful man.
