Kerry Monroe

Kerry Renae Mays Monroe, 59, of Houston, Texas passed away December 8, 2016. She was born in Tomball, Texas on October 18, 1957. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas and daughter Dawn. Kerry grew up in Oak Forest, attending Katherine Smith Elementary, Black Junior High and graduated from Waltrip High in 1976. She was employed by Kmart for 29 years, was manager of Curves on 43rd for 10 years, and then employed by Builders Products, Inc. on McAlister Street in 2015. Kerry never met a stranger and she was always there to help anyone that needed help. She always met you with a big smile and that great personality. She was known and loved by many, many friends in and around the community. She will be missed throughout by everyone that had ever come in contact with her. Kerry is survived by Mary Mays Duncan, her mother, and James and Michelle Mays, her brother and sister-in-law. A visitation was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Integrity Funeral Care, 3915 Dacoma Street, Houston, Texas 77092. The funeral and burial were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the VA Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. Donations can be made to American Heart Association in Kerry's honor.
