Kimberly Basnight

Kimberly Rebecca Basnight, 49, Richmond, TX, formally of Elizabethtown, NC went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2014 after a courageous fight with cancer. She is survived by two sons, Cameron Jacob Lurie and Joseph Leon Daurity and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren Zaira Faith Daurity and Ryan Killian Daurity; father Gordon Basnight and wife Gayle; mother Rebecca Toole and husband Edward; brothers Gordon Scott Basnight and wife Madelene, David Gregg Basnight and wife Jean, Kevin Lee Basnight and wife Kerry, Matthew Christian Basnight and wife Mary, and Christopher Sean Basnight and wife Suzie; sister Margaret Ruth Wester; Step-brother John Robert Fletcher; Step-sisters Stephanie Toole Tucker and husband Damien, and Virginia Gayle Meehan and husband Art; and 25 nieces and nephews. Kimberly graduated from East Carolina University with honors in nursing. She loved her profession with a passion and touched many lives during her career. She enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the beach. Her favorite pastime was playing the guitar and singing. A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Holden Beach Chapel in Holden Beach, NC.
