Larry Carlton Rinaca of Georgetown, TN passed away Wednesday September 7, 2016 at M.D. Anderson, Houston, TX. Born in Rockingham County VA on July 8, 1952. The son of the late Carlton C. Rinaca and Maxine Dofflemyer Rinaca. Surviving is his wife Dianne C Roberts. Graduating from Page County High School and obtaining a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, his career began in Huntsville, AL with the space program. Changing direction he moved to TN to begin a 31 year career with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as a engineer supporting TVA's various nuclear plants. He enjoyed travel, hunting, NASCAR, camping, boating, cycling, hiking, skiing and all types of competitive sports. Retiring in 2008, his passion for travel led him to Hilton Head Island (HHI) and new friends. As his circle became larger, he was overjoyed and felt blessed to have his TN, HHIMR, TX and VA friends and family. He will be remembered by many for his dry sense of humor . Other surviving relatives include stepson Tony Peeler and wife Angie, stepdaughter Tonya Parker and husband Jeff, uncle US "Jack" Rinaca and wife Billie Ann, uncle Edward "Eddie" Rinaca and wife Joann; numerous cousins and best friend Bruce Campbell. A Celebration of Life service will be held in VA in the fall, to be announced later.
