Lillian Layden

September 29, 1925 — December 1, 2017

LILLIAN MARIE WALTERS McQUITTY LAYDEN 1925 - 2017 On the evening of December 1, 2017, Lillian Marie Walters McQuitty Layden, 92 years of age, passed away peacefully in Conroe, Texas in the loving presence of her daughters. Lillian is now celebrating in her heavenly home prepared by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As the mother of five adult married children and a beloved grandma to numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Proverbs 31 best describes her: A woman who fears God, she shall be praised; her children rise up and call her blessed. Lillian Marie Walters was born in San Francisco, California and was very proud of her Danish family heritage. Her World War Il marriage to Morris McQuitty, a Navy sailor from Missouri, began a journey of motherhood, homemaking, and ministry. Lillian was blessed to have two amazing men in her life. After the passing of Morris, she met and married Bill Layden. Our mom loved family, nonstop shopping, traveling the world, and family reunions in Missouri and California. She was an artist of paint, pottery and photography, a servant with hands to help others in need and a writer via her Annual Christmas Letter. Lillian faithfully supported the ministries of her church and Christian missions around the world. She left a testimony of faith and spiritual legacy amongst her relatives, extended kin and church family. A celebration of the life of Lillian will be a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are sending donations to Grace Life Collegiate Missions, a ministry reaching out to students in Maryland that is directed by her grandson, Michael. Donations may be sent to Grace Life Collegiate Mission at: Grace Life Collegiate Missions 7811 Aiken Avenue, Parkville MD 21234 Or given online at: http://gracelifechurch.com/collegiate/give/
