Linda Lou Meese was born to Walter and Evelyn Meese on October 5, 1941. The sixth of seven children, she was raised in the house her father built on an acreage near Robinson, Illinois. Linda attended a rural, one-room school near their home through the sixth grade before completing her education at Robinson High School. She went on to earn an Associates in Applied Science - Nursing in Springfield, Illinois.
Linda became a surgical technician at the local hospital in Robinson where she met Harold, the love of her life. She first met him when he was a patient in the hospital. In his anesthetic haze, he asked her to give him a bath. “Well, she thought, although he was very young, he was good-looking and funny.” He later impressed her by whipping donuts in the parking lot in her VW Bug. They were married several months later on March 4, 1967.
Linda and Harold had two children, Kevin and Amy. They relocated several times before settling in Liberal, Kansas, in 1975. They remained in Liberal until Harold took a “temporary” job near Fulshear, Texas, 23 years ago. They lived there until her death on October 20, 2024. They were members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Katy.
Linda was a kind, generous, lifelong Christian. She was known for her smile and her golf game. Although shy of strangers, she was a loyal, fun friend with an infectious laugh. She loved talking on the phone, playing games, quilting, rearranging furniture, and eating ice cream. Her favorite pastime was being Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Harold Frauli, two sisters; Shirley (Jack) Harmon and Sandra Meese, her in-laws; Glendeth Meese, Jerry (Debbie) Frauli, and Ronnie (Karyn) Frauli, her children; Kevin (Barbara) Frauli and Amy (Ryan) Hall, her grandchildren; Ryan Dixon, Shane (Kate) McCabe, Brady (Lacey) McCabe, Hailey Frauli, Barbara Naegele, Cordell (Jessica) Whitaker, and Alexus Faught, as well as seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on November 2nd at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 5373 Franz Rd, Katy, TX 77493. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Linda Frauli at https://www.alz.org/texas?set=1
