Linda Jo (Vassar) Yajima, of Hockley, Texas, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, after 58 remarkable years. She was in the comfort of her own home and surrounded by family. Linda was born in Monticello, Minnesota, on October 26, 1960, to John and Colleen (Finn) Vassar. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could warm a soul.
In 1976, Linda's family moved to Houston, Texas. She later graduated from Jersey Village High School in 1979. In 1982, Linda then met and married the love of her life, Toshinori Yajima, on August 27, 1982, and had three children.
Linda was a jack of all trades and enjoyed completing DIY-type projects in and around the house. She often volunteered at the elementary school, which led to her passion of working with children. This was a meaningful period of her life when many life-long friendships were created.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lester and Rose Finn, and parents, John and Colleen Vassar. Left to honor Linda and remember her love is her husband, Toshinori Yajima, and children: Sara (Matt), Adam (Chasity), and Haley (Daniel), as well as her grandchildren: Avery, Payton, Easton, Elliott, and Paige.
