Her family celebrated her birthday on Cinco de Mayo, a testament to the joy she brought into their lives.

Piedad’s love for nature was evident in her daily life. She found immense joy and peace in the natural world, particularly in the company of her cherished birds. She would spend hours in her garden, tending to her plants and watching the birds that she loved so dearly. Her home was always filled with the sounds of chirping birds, a testament to her gentle spirit and her deep connection with nature.

Her family fondly recalls the simple pleasures she enjoyed, like playing games and spending time with loved ones. She taught them the values of love, devotion, and being there for each other every day. Piedad’s love and presence were unwavering, and she provided the stability and support her family needed during challenging times, particularly when they relocated from El Paso, Texas to San Antonio, Texas. She left behind all she knew to ensure her family's well-being, dutifully following and supporting them without asking for anything in return, except to go to Bingo!

Throughout her life, Piedad demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Piedad is lovingly remembered and survived by her siblings, Jose Isabel Salazar Villa, Graciela Salazar Villa, Luis Salazar Villa, her daughters, Adriana Gold (husband Trenton Waring Gold) and Argentina Picasso (husband Luis Roel Flores, Jr.); her grandchildren, Arturo Picasso, Ashley Marie Gold, Elias Samuel Roel Flores, Hailey Ann Gold, Kailey Lee Gold, Lorenzo Granillo, Luis Alberto Granillo (wife Katherine Granillo), Robert Picasso, Sophia Argentina Anais Flores; and her great-grandchildren, Eva Rose Granillo and Orlando Granillo.

She is preceded to Heaven by her soulmate Roberto Armenta, her Mother San Juana Villa Salazar, her Father Leopoldo Salazar Flores, her siblings Antonio Salazar Villa, Emilio Salazar Villa, Leopoldo Salazar Villa, and Refugio Salazar Villa. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that her family will carry forward in her name.

As per her wishes, Piedad was cremated, and a small ceremony will be held among close family members in San Antonio, Texas. Her family expresses their eternal love and gratitude for the impact she had on their lives. They will forever cherish the memories, the laughter, and the love she shared.

Rest in peace, dear Abuelita-Bisa. You will always be in our hearts, and your legacy will live on through the countless lives you touched. We love you forever, Grandma! “Te quiero mucho con todo mi corazón, yo dijo primero.”
