Mary A Bolds (Crouse), widow of Peter A Bolds, Sr. (the World's Greatest Fisherman), passed on Dec 8, 2019 in peace and at home. She was born in Morganfield, KY (1923) but lived in the Heights from 1948 to present. Mary is survived by her children: Elizabeth Carey (Ken), Peter Jr (Nancy MacNaughton), John Michael (Maxine), Mary Marthe Estry, 3 grandchildren Kevin Carey, Victoria Bolds Orozco (Richard) and Jason Bolds and 2 great grandchildren, Redley and Riley Orozco. The out of state clan of nieces and nephews and in-laws were beloved by Mary and always in her prayers. Mary found great comfort in All Saints Catholic Church and her daily morning mass companions. She was active in the Altar Society and ministered to her many friends, neighbors and children in the neighborhood as a loving friend and confidant. Reading was her passion as was her art work. Mary was constantly learning and got her driver's license at 65! She was an independent soul, feisty, and an ardent Democrat to the end.
Visitation and viewing will be 9:30a-11, Dec.17 at All Saints Catholic Church (215 E 10th, Heights), with a mass at 11a, and burial at the VA Cemetery to follow. Please note: there will be NO police escort to the cemetery and should you decide to go, please get the special instructions/time restrictions from a family member. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wildlife Center of Texas (7007 Old Katy Rd., Houston, TX 77024) or BARC (City of Houston Animal Shelter, 3300 Carr St. Houston, TX, 77026). Mary loved the critters...
